When you buy a domain name, the second step that you need is to have hosting. Hosting is a place where we store our files. There are six types of web hosting.

1. Shared Hosting

Shared Hosting is a perfect choice for a small website. Shared Hosting is a place where many other websites are stored. They use all server resources such as RAM Memory, CPU. Because of the low price, many websites are using shared hosting, and yes Shared hosting is a great option for website owners who are in their beginning stage.

2. Virtual private server ( VPS )

A virtual private server plan is the ultimate middle ground between a shared hosting server and a dedicated hosting server. It’s a great option for website owners that need more website control, but don’t necessarily need a dedicated hosting server. VPS hosting is very unique because every website is hosted within its own space on the server, but it still shares a physical server with other users in the hosting.

Virtual private server hosting provides website owners with more option customization and storage space but they’re still not able to handle high traffic or so this means the website can be affected by other websites on the server. Typically, VPS hosting is used most by website owners who want to have dedicated hosting but don’t have the technical knowledge which is very important to have. VPS hosting provides the benefits of shared hosting with the control of dedicated hosting.

3. Dedicated server hosting

Dedicated hosting gives website owners full freedom over the server where the website is stored. That's because the server is rented by you and you're the only "resident", and only you stored data on that server. You'll have the full root and admin privileges, this means you can control everything starting from security to the system operating you need. But all this control has a cost. Dedicated servers are one of the most expensive web hostings. Usually, they're used by website owners with very high levels of website traffic and very good knowledge in control of their servers.

4. Cloud hosting

Cloud hosting is the current trendy of the technology industry. In the web hosting world, it means so many computers are working together. Cloud hosting offers unlimited capabilities to handle high traffic or traffic spikes. Here's how it works: A team of servers (called a cloud) works together to host a group of sites. This allows multiple computers to work together to handle high levels of traffic or spikes for each particular website.

5. Colocation

Why do you need to keep your servers in-house or at a private data center when you can choose to "co-locate" your equipment by renting a space in one colocation center. This center will give you the energy power, bandwidth, IP addresses, and the cooling system which is very important. What is rented is the space which comes with racks and cabinets. Colocation gives you access to a higher level of bandwidth compared to a normal office server room, with a much lower cost.
